Tip of the Month!

Usually to soften the light from a camera flash you would buy a soft box to put over the flash to soften the light on the object you are photographing. If you do not have the funds for off-camera flash and flash equipment, you can use a simple little technique. For those of you who have an on-camera flash and you wish to soften the light, you can use a simple household item like a piece of white cloth or a white napkin, tie it around the flash with an elastic band, and voila! It doesn't work as well as a soft box, but it definitely makes the shadows less harsh as well as reducing red eye!
